With the summer approaching, we are all looking forward to enjoying picnics and barbeques with friends and family! However, when one is trying to stick to a heathy lifestyle it can be challenging to eat healthy at these events. One great idea is to look for a salad in the menu. Even when rest of the items are calorie rich, one can have a salad as an appetizer to fill up. The veggies, nuts and fruits in the salads are rich in fiber which helps us feel fuller and the oil in the dressing keeps us feel satiated. Just remember to keep the dressing light and use olive oil based dressings. The best part is that it gives room to try rest of the menu options without overdoing the calories.
